This month we had the absolute pleasure of speaking to one of our favourite local artists Caroline Barnard of ‘Stengun Drawings’, whose work we have been big fans of for some time and have recently purchased several prints of hers to be displayed in our office, which we are obsessed with!

Starting as a hobby for Caroline a year ago through painting, ‘British domestic birds’ found in her garden and then eventually evolving her love for botanicals into her work, which has since become her ‘main focus’, ‘Stengun Drawings’ is all about “bringing the outdoors indoors, whether that’s a simple British rose or a tropical palm.”
Caroline also adds how growing up in a creative household in the countryside allowed “plenty of time to explore creative pursuits” with her ‘love of plants from an early age’ stemming from her father’s ‘plant shop in south east London’, “My work wouldn’t be if it weren’t for beautiful greenery and wildlife. But I am also influenced by fashion and interiors the latter being another reason why I picked up my paint brush again, I wanted a flamingo painting on my wall so decided to paint it.”
We love the fresh approach that ‘Stengun Drawings’ takes when adapting everyday greenery & wildlife into striking paintings, bringing life into many a room around your home or office.

As throughout the month of June, ‘Corner Kitchen’, E7, will be hosting an exhibit of original ‘Stengun Drawings’ paintings which Caroline best describes as “A nice mix of work inspired by the nature residing on Wanstead Flats and also more variations of tropical palms.”
We definitely recommend visiting this brilliant exhibit, as it’s a great opportunity to take in the intricate detail and precision that carefully goes into every painting.

We really can’t speak highly enough of Caroline and the brilliant ‘Stengun Drawings’ and would recommend them in a heartbeat to anyone looking to display exceptional pieces of artwork in their home.
