Theydons Scene – Our BARA Interview & Sponsorship

Here at Theydons over the past 30 years we have loved sponsoring and spreading the word about as many locally run and sourced businesses that we have within this creative area, and one of our many sponsorship’s that we thoroughly enjoy talking about is the fab ‘Bush Telegraph’ which is run by the equally brilliant ‘Bushwood Area Residents Association’.

Never heard of the ‘Bush Telegraph’ but live within the area? Well here’s everything that you need to know on why you should sign up!

BARA is the ‘residents’ association for the Bushwood area of Leytonstone, and their aim is simple, to create an ‘even stronger sense of community and to encourage neighbours to get to know each other’, this is achieved by the variety of social events that are organised throughout the year that they hold for all the family to enjoy, as well as liaising with local authorities (such as the local police Safer Neighbourhoods Team and Waltham Forest council) on issues such as planning, parking, etc, the ‘Bush Telegraph’ is your one stop newsletter for everything that you need to know about the area in which you live in.

Another aspect that we think is especially great about BARA and something that we whole heartily support is it’s continuous awareness of shopping locally and supporting the array of fantastic Independent businesses that we have within the area. By becoming a BARA member you are also entitled to the ‘BARA’s Discount Scheme’ which provides an exciting variety of special offers provided by local businesses, helping to further encourage the community to choose local.

The latest BARA newsletter was extra special this time round as our very own Taryn who works in our Sales department over at our Leytonstone Office, was interviewed and here’s what she had to say:
